Trading Paperbacks at Book Attic
If you wish to trade for the following categories, you must trade in that category. Your credit slip will list how many books in each restricted category you may purchase out of you regular credit. You must bring in TWO of that category for every ONE you take out of your credit.
You must trade in Children/Teen and Classics/Nonfiction to get same.
You must trade in SF/Fantasy to get SF/Fantasy books in trade.
IF YOU DON’T TRADE IN BOOKS IN THESE CATEGORIES?
YOU CANNOT TRADE FOR THEM.
No more than 50-75 books may be traded in at one time.
WE DO NOT TRADE HARDBACKS!
Your credit equals one-half of our selling price.
For example, the cover price of the book you trade in is $5.95. We would sell this book for $3. You would get $1.50 in credit for paperback books for trade in our store.
Example: Cover price = $5.95 Our price = $3.00 Your credit = $1.50
The most recently released paperbacks books in the store and hard-to-find authors and series are on the racks marked SPECIAL-NOT FOR REGULAR TRADE. When you trade in books that we will use on these racks, you will receive credit to use towards SPECIAL CREDIT books; otherwise, these books are for purchase only.
All books marked NT under the price are not for trade.
BOOKS ON CD
You must trade in books on tape or CD for books on CD. We turn down most books on CD more than 6 years old.
WHAT WE TURN DOWN IN TRADE
We reserve the right to refuse any book on CD. We turn down books that are in bad condition with loose pages or other defects in the cover, shape etc.. We also turn down books and audios because we are overstocked with that author or category or we just can’t use them. We refuse Series romances (Harlequin, Silhouettes, etc.) more than three months old. We refuse many historical and modern romances more than two years old. We turn down many other types of fiction more than three years old. We turn down most non-fiction more than seven years old. We turn down former audio rental and ex-library. We always take back our own books in trade in saleable condition. The only hardbacks taken in trade are children’s books.
We get over 90,000 paperbacks traded in every year.
Our stock is large and constantly changing. And trading is easy.
